Ted's page has been updated in the Dog Walk Diary section, and I have plans to revive the Diary itself now he has started to settle down a little bit
Ted the Longdog
24/02/2007
Ted has been with us for three months now. Sooner or later I'll put a page on for him. He's a good dog, but very different in character to Ali. Pictures and a page for Ted to come. Whether DWD resumes will remain to be seen!
Ali's page updated
12/11/2006
I've updated Ali's page in Dog Walk Diary with a few thoughts, and there are some pictures of him that haven't been on here before
Ali the Lurcher is gone
12/9/2006
Sadly, Ali died yesterday afternoon, after the complications from the tumour in his jaw got suddenly worse. We called for his vet, and Ali died peacefully in his bed with Sarah and I at his side. Obviously, for now, Dog Walk Diary is at an end. Look for a full tribute to this wonderful dog when things return to normal.
We're still here!
12/05/2006
No updates for a while, but the pages are under construction, and will appear soon.
Also, due to misuse and vandalism I've had to temporarily close the guestbook
March Dog Walk Diary opens, ready to close!
30/03/2006
A super-abundance of birds all seen on one walk gives a bumper entry to Dog Walk Diary for March

Once again, the webcams are offline due to computer failure. It's going to be a while before a fix this time though....
Small August update
31/08/2005
A very quiet August is rounded off as we move closer towards Autumn.
Small update
10/08/2005
A small, non-pictorial update to Dog Walk Diary today.
Stone Gazette error
24/07/2005
If you have made your way here after seeing the link printed in the Stone Gazette I'd like to correct what you will have read. There are NO secret webcams installed on The Common. All Dog Walk Diary shots are taken with a conventional handheld digital camera, and the webcams confined to my own property.
Dog Walk Diary updated
19/07/2005
July's Dog Walk Diary is updated. Also, I have a motherboard failure on the machine that monitors the cameras, so they will be out of action for a few days.

Check the latest entry in May's Dog Walk Diary for some pictures of a Woodpecker chick and it's parent.
One year old!
22/05/2005
It's nearly the end of May, and that means that WildlifeWebcam is now one year old. In that time Dog Walk Diary, initially intended to be a sideshow for the Birdbox cameras, has totally taken over. This is in part due to the lack of birds in the boxes, but mostly because the more you look for things out walking, the more you find. In the next twelve months I hope to rebalance the site a little. I'm in the planning stages of bulding a pond at the moment, which should hopefully provide more material for the garden sections. There is a small update to Dog Walk Diary, and some interesting insects in a long overdue Garden Diary update.
New Dog Walk Diary entry
09/05/2005
In which I finally catch up with goings on on The Common. See May's first entry for flies, slugs, Chaffinches and Woodpeckers.
Problems resolved
30/04/2005
Webcam back on line today.
Big Update
31/03/2005
Dog Walk Diary has a big update, in which Ali just misses out on bagging his first Munro, and gets his own gallery set up.
Webcam change round
30/3/2005
The cameras have been reinstalled in the birdboxes. Other people around the country are reporting nest building in boxes, so I'm hoping we get more activity than last year.
Ali's health
07/03/2005
A small addition to update readers on the status of Ali's health, which contains a small video of him running in the snow last month. See Ali's page in the Dog Walk Diary section.

Temporary change to birdtable cam
21/01/2005
The birdtable cam is looking at a patch of ground with bird food on it for a while. When I went to check out the table today, I noticed that most of the food I had scattered there several days ago was gone. Night time visitors, or the Blackbirds we have seen?
Birdtable Archive
21/01/2005
A visit from a Blackbird this morning means I now have enough clips to start a small video archive. Find it in the webcam section.
Meteor(ology)
18/01/2005
Two spectacular walks today, for very different reasons. No pictures. Why will become apparent if you read the latest instalment of Dog Walk Diary.

Small update
16/01/2005
A small update gets Dog Walk Diary 2005 off to a start.
Dog Walk Diary 2005
13/01/2005
An entry for Boxing Day shows the snow we had in Staffordshire. There have been no entries since as we have been overwhelmed by the behaviour of a second dog we adopted. Unfortunately, the adoption did not work out and we had to return him to the rescue. DWD should be back to normal soon.
At last!
29/12/2004
After several near misses, proper footage of a visit to the bird table today as this Robin comes for a poke around. Three short clips are available to download here, here, and here

Update on Ali's health
25/10/2004
I spoke to Ali's vet today, about the results of the tests on the sample of bone taken a while ago. They have come back as 'inconclusive' which, vague as it sounds, is a small fillip.
See Ali's page in the Dog Walk Diary for more.
Sad News
14/10/2004
Some sad news regarding Ali's future today. He has a tumour in his jaw bone. More details in Ali's page in Dog Walk Diary.
Journal Intime de Promenade de Chien
13/10/2004
Dog Walk Diary is in France this month, trying desperately to keep up with the livewire that is Meg. Only half of a bumper update is in place so far.
Dog Walk Diary Updated
01/10/2004
September's Dog Walk Diary ends with a burst of sunshine, and we pass in to the decidedly autumnal sixth month of the journal
The Dread Hound of the Downsbanks!
24/09/2004
Actually Ali waiting for me to finish photographing funghi on the very steep slopes of Downsbanks. He had to go a very long way in to the trees to find somewhere flat enough to sit. This picture reminds me of those grainy shots of escaped big cats on a remote moor somewhere. See more in September's Dog Walk Diary.
Autumn approaches
07/09/2004
Septembers Dog Walk Diary starts, amid an Indian Summer of sorts.

Update
27/07/2004
Back from a week in Tuscany. July's Dog Walk Diary draws to a close, and I'm mucking about with a new webcam, so you may not necessarily get a link to the batbox. Some Italian insects in the misc. fauna gallery as well.

Batbox cam goes live!
15/05/2004
The new bat box camera went live today (15 May). Hopefully we'll get a bat or two roosting in the box. See the webcam section to view the camera.
First Bird
29/03/2004
March 29th saw the first and only visitor to the box. He (or she) made three entries to the box, over about 3 - 4 minutes, but decided that the box was not what it was looking for. The camera is now in a bat roosting box, hopefully going live soon.
